We are a small safari house working out of Arusha. We plan quiet, handmade journeys through the Tanzania most travellers never find — not bigger, not longer, just closer to the thing itself.
The eight Ngomi journeys travellers choose most often. Treat each one as a starting point — we refine dates, pace and camps around you in the planning call.

The most scenic route up the roof of Africa. Senior guides, KPAP-audited porter welfare, an extra day for altitude when it matters.
Bestseller 08
Mahale Mountains on Lake Tanganyika for chimpanzee trekking, then across to the northern Serengeti for the migration — our most wild combination.
We don’t sell safaris. We keep them — quietly, one at a time, the way the land asks to be kept.
Ngomi began on a simple observation: most safari companies move too fast through a land that rewards patience. The five a.m. wake-up. The three-park day. The checklist dressed as an itinerary. Tanzania, at that speed, is a postcard.
We travel differently. Smaller groups. Fewer parks. More hours with fewer animals. A senior guide who has read the bush for two decades, not two seasons. A driver who knows where the cheetahs go at dusk in October, and why.
We work with camps whose values we know personally — not because of a listing page, but because we have sat at their fires. Every itinerary is written by hand, for a single traveller, at a single moment in the calendar. Nothing here is catalogue.
If this sounds like your kind of journey, we would love to begin a conversation.
Tanzania unfolds in four great circuits — the famous North, the quiet South, the forested West, where chimpanzees still nest, and the old Swahili islands of Zanzibar and Mafia. We work in each, but not all four, in one trip. Pick a homeland, then we’ll go deep.
The parks that built Tanzania’s reputation — Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Manyara — clustered within a day’s drive of Arusha. Most accessible, best infrastructure, and the densest wildlife you will find anywhere on the continent.
Ruaha and Nyerere together make up nearly a third of Tanzania’s protected land, with a fraction of the vehicles. Bigger elephant herds, longer walks, entire afternoons where you will not see another human.
Tanzania’s most overlooked circuit — the forested shore of Lake Tanganyika, where chimpanzees still live undisturbed. Small-plane access, boat arrivals, and a completely different safari: hushed, green, on foot, looking upward.
The second half of a proper Tanzania journey. Zanzibar and Mafia sit like two very different anchors off the Swahili coast — Zanzibar with its old spice port and turquoise northern reefs, Mafia with its quiet marine park and whale sharks. Where the camera finally goes down.
Beyond the game drive. Seven layers of a Ngomi journey — the walking hour, the balloon dawn, the evening by the fire when the guide starts telling stories instead of pointing at them.
Guided, armed, at the pace of the continent — the way the old rangers still prefer.
An hour of drift over the northern Serengeti at sunrise. Champagne at landing, usually under an acacia.
Real introductions to two cultures — pastoral and hunter-gatherer — on their own terms. Nothing staged.
Six routes, one mountain. Senior guides, KPAP-audited porter welfare, patience to add a day when it matters.
Dedicated vehicle, beanbag mounts, an extra dawn circuit for the long lenses. When the camera is the reason you came.
The southern parks from the water — Rufiji River, Tanganyika shore, or a slow sundowner off Mafia.
The hour we build every journey around. When the guide stops pointing at wildlife and starts telling stories instead. When the cook comes out with something that took him all afternoon. When nobody is checking a phone. This is the Ngomi hour.
Everything else, we can shape around you.
All the ways we travel →The safari with Ngomi Adventures and Amani was priceless. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
I had the best experience with Ngomi Adventures. I will certainly use their services when I return.
His organisation of our safari experience and accommodation was faultless.
Everything was perfectly organized, with amazing accommodations!
They were very professional. I recommend it to everyone.
Amani loves his job — he is very flexible, and absolutely reliable.
A short note is enough. One of our planners will read it, think for a day, and reply with questions — not a quote. The real work starts in that first conversation.
