Standard Tented Camps: These are the backbone of the mid-range experience, particularly in the Serengeti. These camps offer large, heavy-duty canvas tents built on raised wooden or concrete platforms. Inside, you will find proper, comfortable beds (often queen or twin-sized) with quality linens, bedside tables, and solar-powered lighting. Crucially, these tents feature private, en-suite bathrooms attached to the back of the tent, complete with flush toilets and hot showers. While they may not have the antique furnishings or private plunge pools of the luxury tier, they offer everything you need for a comfortable, deeply immersive night in the bush. Sleeping under canvas, listening to the sounds of the savanna, is an essential safari experience that is perfectly captured at this level.
