The Fine Print

Payment &
Deposit.

We believe in complete transparency before a single dollar changes hands. This page sets out exactly how deposits work, when payments fall due, and how your money is protected — clearly, and without small print designed to confuse.

Your booking, step by step.

Booking a safari with Ngomi Adventures follows a straightforward four-stage process. We hold your spaces the moment a deposit clears and keep you informed at every milestone between confirmation and departure.

One

Booking confirmation.

Once you are happy with your tailored itinerary and we have confirmed availability across all camps, lodges, and activities, we issue a proforma invoice. A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total safari cost is required to confirm your booking. Upon receipt, we immediately secure your accommodation, register your park permits with TANAPA and the NCAA, and assign your dedicated safari guide. You will receive a written booking confirmation within 48 hours.

30% of total · due on confirmation
Two

Second instalment.

A further 40% of your total safari cost becomes due 90 days before your arrival date in Tanzania. This payment covers the balance owed to our camp and lodge partners, the majority of whom require settlement well in advance of peak season. At this stage your itinerary is fully locked, your airport transfers are booked, and your pre-departure information pack is prepared.

40% of total · 90 days before arrival
Three

Final balance.

The remaining 30% is due 30 days before your first day in Tanzania. Once this payment clears, we dispatch your complete travel documentation by email: a day-by-day itinerary with camp addresses, your guide's contact details and vehicle registration, emergency numbers for the Arusha office, and any applicable park and conservation area certificates you should carry with you.

Four

On the ground.

Once you land in Tanzania, your agreed safari cost is fully settled. There are no additional fees collected by Ngomi Adventures on the ground. Optional activities added during your safari — a Serengeti balloon flight, a Maasai boma visit, a sunset dhow cruise off Zanzibar — are quoted and settled directly with the activity operator, or invoiced by Ngomi after your return home. Tips for guides, camp staff, and drivers are entirely at your discretion and not included in our pricing.

$0 further Ngomi charges on the ground

The numbers, plainly stated.

All Ngomi Adventures safaris are quoted, invoiced, and payable in United States Dollars (USD). Tanzania's tourism industry operates in USD and all national park fees, TANAPA levies, and conservation area charges are set and collected in this currency.

How to send payment.

We keep payment straightforward. Two methods are available and all details are provided on your proforma invoice.

Preferred

Bank transfer.

International bank transfer (SWIFT / wire transfer) is our preferred and most cost-effective method. Full banking details — account name, account number, SWIFT code, and correspondent bank — are provided on every proforma invoice we issue.

When instructing your bank, please select the "OUR" or "Sender pays all charges" option to ensure the full invoiced amount arrives without deduction. Transfers that arrive short of the invoiced amount will need to be topped up before services are confirmed.

We do not accept cryptocurrency, PayPal, Western Union, or personal cheques. If your preferred payment method is not listed above, please contact us at info@ngomiadventures.com before booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Everything else you should know.

Included in all safari packages All Tanzania National Parks entrance fees and conservation area levies; all game drives in a private 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser with pop-up roof; all accommodation as specified in your itinerary; all meals as specified (full board is standard in the bush — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and soft drinks); all internal road transfers between parks; and one dedicated, professionally licensed safari guide for the full duration of your time in the field.
Not included International flights to and from Tanzania; Kilimanjaro or Dar es Salaam airport taxes; Tanzania tourist visa fees (currently USD 50 for most nationalities — apply online via the Tanzania Immigration portal); yellow fever vaccination where required; personal travel insurance; tips and gratuities for guides, drivers, and camp staff; personal expenditure and laundry; alcoholic beverages unless specified; optional activities not listed in your itinerary.
Travel insurance Comprehensive travel insurance that includes emergency medical evacuation cover is a mandatory condition of booking with Ngomi Adventures. Tanzania's national parks are remote — the nearest hospital to the Serengeti is in Arusha, over four hours away. AMREF Flying Doctors and other medical evacuation services operate in-country but require pre-existing insurance cover. Proof of a valid policy must be submitted to us no later than 30 days before your arrival. We are happy to suggest reputable providers including Campbell Irvine, World Nomads, and Travel Guard.
Tanzania visa Most nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. The e-Visa (USD 50 for single entry) is processed online at eservices.immigration.go.tz and must be obtained before travel — visas are no longer issued on arrival at most entry points. East African Community member state citizens (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, DRC) enter visa-free. Please verify current requirements for your passport at the time of booking.
Children on safari We warmly welcome families. Children aged 7 and above are generally suitable for game drives in Tanzania's national parks. Children under 5 are not permitted in Ngorongoro Crater or certain private conservancies for safety and wildlife disturbance reasons. Children aged 5–15 are quoted at a reduced rate on most packages, subject to the specific camp or lodge policy. Please provide the exact ages of all children at the time of enquiry so we can design an age-appropriate itinerary and confirm applicable rates.
Single travellers Solo travellers on private safaris are subject to a single room supplement, which varies by camp and season. This charge is levied by the camp or lodge and is not a Ngomi margin. We always show single supplement costs transparently in your proposal. Alternatively, we offer group joining safaris where solo travellers share a vehicle with up to five other guests — an excellent option for those travelling alone.
Itinerary changes We understand that plans can change. Minor changes to timing or logistics are handled by our team at no cost. Changes to camps, lodge categories, or travel dates after a deposit has been paid may incur amendment fees charged by our partners. We will always obtain and share the full cost of any change before proceeding — you will never be charged for a modification you did not agree to.
Force majeure In the event of circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest, government travel advisories, or park closures — Ngomi Adventures will work in good faith to offer an alternative itinerary, a credit against a future booking, or a partial refund where recovery of costs from suppliers permits. This is why we strongly recommend travel insurance that includes cancellation and curtailment cover.
"Tanzania's parks are among the last truly wild places left on earth. We exist to give you honest, unhurried access to them — and honest, unhurried answers about what your safari will cost. What you see on your invoice is what you pay."
— Amani & the Ngomi team · Arusha, Tanzania
